I am sometimes asked if I have worked with candidates in particular executive positions, functional areas, and/or industries.

There is a common misperception that a resume writer needs to be a specialist in a particular industry or function in order to be able to create a high-impact set of documents for you. Your resume writer's primary part in the process is supplying expertise in resume development; the client's part is supplying specific information about his or her career and area of expertise. That is, of course, the purpose of the extensive information gathering process that I will undertake with you.

The famed author Robert Heinlein has an interesting take on the subject of specialization:

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn [steer] a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

That being said, over more than three decades as a professional executive resume writer, I have written resumes for clients across virtually all industries and job functions, from major industries to unique, niche ones and for both traditional and emerging executive roles.
